I Hope You’re Feeling Grounded
It's this part of the summer that I love the most. According to Chinese Medicine, the seasonal energy has shifted from the fire early-summer season of blooming to the earth season of fruiting.
The earth season is the most grounded, balanced season of the year. It's the only time of year that the seasonal energies of yin and yang are balanced; therefore, it feels so mellow, sweet, and easygoing.
We felt the inspiring yang energy in the spring sprouting up from the deep yin of winter, and coming into the peak blooming yang time during the summer solstice. As much as I love the excitement of the early summer fire season, it's also exhausting. It can be manic and anxiety-producing, alongside its beauty and thrill.
The more I pay attention to the subtle (and not so subtle) aspects of the energy of each season, the organs that are energetically running the strongest, and the emotions that that energy frequency resonates with, the more I can maintain a sense of homeostasis - by knowing the practices that will harmonize with the seasonal energy.
As the seasonal energies visibly manifest in nature in very different ways, they also express themselves in us (as we are part of nature), emotionally and physically.
During the late summer, earth season, the stomach and spleen energies are in high tide, making it the easiest time of year to fortify them and bring them into balance.
Emotionally, when the stomach and spleen energy is balanced, we feel grounded, nourished, confident, and content. But when imbalanced, we suffer from the opposite: feeling ungrounded, worried, and doubtful.
Hope to breathe with you soon.
From my heart to yours~
Namaste,
Maggie
