Your Challenges Are Your Assignments to Evolve

As I walked yesterday, I felt the shift in the season from the early summer of fire energy rising, to the mellow sweetness of midsummer. As much as I love the transition from spring to summer, the energy rising up can be intense and a bit nerve-racking, like fire rising.

Comparing nature's patterns to our own always helps me understand why certain emotions can rise in me and the collective.

According to Chinese medicine, each season has a specific energy frequency and vibration depending on the direction the Earth faces the sun. The sun is like our electricity or wifi signal, and it shifts each season. This shift affects our physical organs' energy, our emotions, and our consciousness (or spirit).

Our emotions are energy, as they hold a frequency and vibration.

In the early summer, the energy reaches its peak, in the fire season of full bloom. This can feel so joyful and exciting, but on the flip side, it can also produce anxiety and stress. It's the same energy frequency; two sides of the same coin, one positive when the energy is balanced, but if it's excessive or weak, it can turn to its negative.

What I find also interesting is that each season has a consciousness or a spirit that's prevalent. In the early summer fire season, our consciousness is rooted in our heart light, known as Purusa in yoga, or Shan Shen in Chinese medicine. The Bible refers to this light as 'the kingdom of God within'.

This is said to be our soul light that came in with us when we entered this life, and will leave with us when we leave this life. During the early summer, when everything is at its fullest expression, our heart light is radiating through nature as it blooms into its full beauty.

Developing a relationship with this light seated deep within our heart brings a sense of remembrance of who we truly are: light housed in our temporary physical body.

When we can take the vantage point from this light, having this human experience, then anything that we are struggling with is like an assignment given to us to help us evolve.

Once I shift from being entangled in my issues to viewing them as assignments, it changes how I respond to them.

Rather than taking it personally, and becoming reactive or feeling like a victim, I shift my mindset to view this assignment as an opportunity to upgrade my response.

And what helps me shift my struggling mind the most is to sit and first regulate my breath, allowing my busy mind to slow down, so I can surrender my consciousness to my heart-mind.

I'm continuously surprised by the guidance my heart-mind gives me. It's radically different than my head! It's the wiser, more compassionate, evolved part of me that guides with love and grace, not fear.

Silently repeating the mantra 'So Hum' while visualizing the heart light expanding and contracting with your breath is a helpful tool for shifting the attention from the reactive, fearful brain to the wise, compassionate heart.

And if need be, ask the heart, "What would be the best way to handle this situation?" and allow space and silence for wisdom to speak.

This is the easiest time of year to establish a relationship with this light, our inner guru. It provides a deep sense of confidence and assurance, realizing that we have an inner guide that will always direct us with love, compassion, and wisdom.

My heart light bows to your heart light (the true meaning of Namaste).

From my heart to yours~

Namaste,

Maggie
