I Was Taught Resiliency by a Tree...
This photo of me sitting under this willow tree honors resilience. In fact, I call this tree 'Resilience' because just a couple of years ago, she was struck by a storm and leveled to a stump. I couldn't believe it, as she's a favorite tree of mine, gracefully growing over the pond that I walk to daily.
I thought she was done, and I felt so sad. But a year later, she sprouted a branch out of the cracked stump and continued to grow and thrive into a vibrant, resilient Willow! I was so impressed by her. I make it a point to sit under her and glean some resilient energy and wisdom.
This past weekend, I visited her, as I was having a difficult day emotionally. I sat under her, leaned my back, and immediately felt calm and understood. The power of tree energy is profound. Whenever I feel lonely, just walking amongst them reminds me of our interconnectedness, for as I'm breathing in their oxygen, they're absorbing the CO2 that I exhale.
As I'm reflecting on the 10 years that Vitality Yoga has been open, five of those years were through Covid! And again, the power of resilience was required for us to survive. I'm so grateful to all of you who helped us stay open through those trying years.
My daily yoga and meditation practice gives me the most resiliency. Releasing the tension held in my body through breathwork and stretching out the issues in my tissues makes a significant difference in how I handle problems. I can approach my struggles by responding rather than being reactive and regretful.
So please come and celebrate our 10-year anniversary with us this Saturday! Come take a free class with us, have lunch, connect with other like-minded souls, and bring a friend or family member who could use some yoga (make sure to register to save your/their spot).
Create a practice that provides so much physical, emotional, and mental relief and resiliency ~ while aging gracefully!
I look forward to breathing, stretching, and building strength and resiliency with you!
From my heart to yours~
Namaste,
Maggie
