Are You in Need of Purpose?
Yesterday, I met a new student who has recently retired and is filling her days with activities and hobbies, but she shared with me that she feels a bit empty.
She loves making art and volunteering at various organizations, and she finds much relief in yoga, but misses having a purpose.
Another student overheard our conversation and shared that she's in between jobs, trying to figure out what she should do next because she doesn't want to be stuck behind a computer all day long.
Before I could say anything, a long-time student piped in saying, "You both should take the yoga teacher training - you'll find your purpose there! I certainly did."
Both of these women exchanged a glance, their eyebrows raised, and replied that they lacked the experience for a teacher training.
The experienced student immediately responded that she had only a few months of yoga under her belt before taking the training. Still, she did it because she was amazed at how much relief she found from her joint pain and anxiety, and was intrigued by the depth of the practice beyond the physical aspects and how it helps her emotionally.
But what she then shared is what most people don't realize they get out of the training: a sense of purpose and a plan to make it happen.
She spoke about not knowing what her purpose was, but exploring what lit her up and discovering her gifts (her dharma) and how to make it happen was life-changing.
And now she's living her purpose by helping underserved kids in her community, tutoring them and teaching breath work and meditation twice a week at an after-school teen center. She said the difference from seeing them come in all pent up and stressed, to leaving relaxed, chatting and joking with each other, makes her feel like she's contributing to helping the world in her small way.
And this isn't so small when you account for the ripple effect of helping people relieve stress and tension. Their outlook shifts, the way they interact with others improves, and they feel more comfortable in their mind and body.
So if you're interested in taking your practice to the next level, finding your purpose (no matter how old you are), and making a clear plan to implement it... Plus, learn how to share the practices of breathwork, meditation, and yoga with all demographics - consider joining us! We start on September 13.
This will be a life changer, and you'll set your trajectory for the next chapter in your life.
I look forward to helping you find your dharma and spread peace!
From my heart to yours~
